1 out of 5 stars UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES BUY THIS PRODUCT   September 2, 2010
eagerbeaver (Chicago)
This thing sucks! I used it for a few years until one day the combination changed. I wish I'd read the reviews on here before I purchased this piece of crap. Like someone else I just banged the crap out of it until it broke. thankfully Dell makes such a good computer that a few bangs did no damage. I HATE YOU TARGUS!

5 out of 5 stars Defcon CL   August 17, 2010
Miguel Laino (Bogota D.C., Colombia)
I've had this cable lock for over 3 years using it almost daily, and I've never had any problems with the combination. Maybe good luck, maybe only those 30 users with the problem had written a review, but if you ask me this is a great and inexpensive cable lock.

1 out of 5 stars IT'S TRUE - THE COMBO SPONTANEOUSLY CHANGES, LOCKING YOU OUT   August 17, 2010
beaglebaileysmom (Colorado)
Combo sets itself to something you will never figure out. I should have read the reviews! At least it wasn't on my laptop at the time. I had a Ken$ington lock that did this too, so I figured a completely different brand couldn't possibly have the same problem...I mean, this is a truly fatal design flaw, and surely only ONE company would be low enough to continue selling a lock they know will cause customers headache and expense, right? Not so! I can only assume now that NO combination laptop lock can be trusted not to lock me out. So I'll be buying a keyed one...maybe that's why those start around $30, and the combos can be had for less than $5. Please be smarter than I was...don't throw away $5.

1 out of 5 stars Jammed with 6 months   July 1, 2010
D.L.C (Honolulu, Hawaii)
Like many other people here, my lock jammed. Luckily, I didn't pay for it, my company did. Worked for about 6 months and then just stopped working. I don't think it "magically" reset its own combination. Mechanical locks don't do that. More likely the rotating mechanism that allows the lock to unlock got jammed. My IT guy had to saw it off. Did some damage to the cosmetics of my company laptop.

Simply put: Don't use this product.

Great while it worked. Imagine getting it jammed at a coffee house rather then your office or home. Yikes.

1 out of 5 stars Don't waste your time or money.   April 17, 2010
L. Dehler (st. augustine, fl usa)
They HAVE NOT resolved the issues with this lock. It is pathetically poor. I am grateful for not having put it on the laptop before finding out that it is junk.
