Exactly what it says! And even more November 22, 2008 Jane Ochoa Gallegos (Quito, ECUADOR, South America) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
About a month ago I bought this laptop and I must say it is a good one. Actually it is the first I've bought. All specifications you see in the title are true but be carefull... There is more!!! If you are looking for Bluetooth, a nice display resolution, silent cooling fans or even just FOR a nice looking laptop, get this one. - I found that Bluetooth is available and it works fine with my Sony Ericsson mobile. - As it says, the native resolution is 1440x900 but it is 1400x1050 but I use the higgest which is 1680x1050. It looks great. - This truly is a silent laptop. The fans get louder from time to time just for a few seconds, which is normal. - The overall design is excellent but be carefull with the QuickPlay buttons. Even if the laptop is completely off, it will start after you press one of the two buttons on the left. - Sound is fine but if you really want a great sound experience you need additional speakers or headphones. - Wireless works great, it has a better signal reception than my old desktop PC. - The most important thing about this laptop is the OS. I bought this laptop with the 64-bit system to take advantage from 64-bit software like Maya. Don't worry if you dont have 64-bit software, 32-bit does work. Remember I said THERE IS MORE?? Well, in my case I got Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1 already installed. This is a great thing since the first Vista releases had a lot of security holes. Now you might be wondering why I gave this laptop a 4/5 score, the reason is start up. It takes a long time to get this thing on: 2:23 mins since I push the power button until Vista finishes loading everything. I must say I had no additional software installed by the time I checked on start-up time. I have used VAIO laptops without Service Pack 1 and you can get to work in less time, really. One last thing, you're supposed to get 320GB in this laptop but you don't. Since no Recovery discs discs came with the laptop, you get the HP Recovery Manager. My HDD had 3 partitions: the local disk (219GB), the recovery partition (13GB) and the unused partition(65.2GB) If you do the math you get 297GB but this is normal. NOTE: you can delete the Recovery partition to get some additional space. I suggest you to get rid of every trial software and then create your own Backup discs with Recovery Manager. This is the safest way to get the system fully functional again since the hard drive is formated and then restored. I HOPE THIS REVIEW HELPS YOU, I BOUGHT THIS LAPTOP BECAUSE I NEEDED A BETTER AND FASTER COMPUTER. THIS COULD WORK AS A DESKTOP REPLACEMENT AND YOU CAN ALSO PLUG-IN AN ADDITIONAL MONITOR OR A TV THROUGH THE S-VIDEO OUTPUT. IF YOU LOOK AT THE PRICE, THIS LAPTOP IS A GREAT DEAL!!!
