A powerhouse laptop without the bulky mobile entertainment unit feel May 17, 2008

I purchased a new laptop at a local store (mistake #1), as with most new computers it came with Vista (mistake #2). Unfortunately the "Windows" applications I need to run were not compatible with "Windows Vista". I spent quite a few hours with the not so wonderful tech support teams from the laptop vendor and the application vendors to find this out. When I took the computer back to the store for a refund I was hassled, there solution was for me to buy new versions of my applications or buy a copy of Windows XP and reload the new machine. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to pay Microsoft a second time for a Windows operating system because the preloaded Windows operating system is not compatible with my existing applications. Let me see $1,500 for a new laptop or $18,000+ for new applications, not a tough choice. So my solution was to purchase the fastest computer I could find with Windows XP preloaded.
So far I've been using this unit for 3 weeks and it works very well acting as a replacement for a desktop.
