| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Thin-and-light: The Toshiba Satellite M205-S4806 is a thin-and-light laptop, under six pounds and built to travel. This model has premium features including a powerful dual-core processor, DVD SuperMulti drive, a built-in webcam and Windows Vista Home Premium. Dual core/64-bit processing: The 1.66GHz Core 2 Duo T5450 has two processing engines that work in tandem, providing much more power than standard 1.66GHz processors. This processor is also capable of processing 64 bits of information at once, twice as much as standard 32-bit processors. Intel Centrino technology enhances mobile performance and extends battery life. This laptop features 2GB of DDR2 system memoryenough for all but the most demanding users. DDR2 is slightly faster than DDR, the previous standard in system memory. Data travels to the processor along the frontside bus. The faster data travels, the faster everything works. This laptop features a 667MHz frontside bus. Processors search for the same data over and over. L2 caches keep this data neat, organized, and nearby so it can be retrieved more quickly. This 2MB L2 cache is large, providing a potentially significant boost in performance. Hard drive: This hard drive features a 200GB capacityperfect for robust collections of music, movies and multimedia. This drives data disks spin at 5400rpm. The faster they spin, the faster the data is read and written. Blazing-fast wireless N: Built-in 802.11agn wireless LAN lets you take advantage of the speed of the latest and fastest networks, as well as networks using the most popular standards. DVD SuperMulti drive: Use this drive to burn DVDs and CDs to share your files, music mixes or home movies. You can even burn DVD-RAM discsspecially-formatted discs that let you drag and drop, or write and rewrite your files up to 100,000 times.

Superb July 11, 2008 M. U. Butt This laptop is great, especially for a price of $780. I have been using it for 4 months now without a problem. It looks great and the keyboard is very user friendly. I will definitely recommend it.
Junk April 7, 2008 Senthil Nathan (Austin, Texas United States) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
This laptop is a real piece of junk. This is the first time I ventured to buy a Toshiba (for my wife) without reading any reviews (not that this laptop had any anyway). I was quite happy at the beginning. Everything seemed to be fine (after upgrading the memory to 2GB). By the way Vista DOES NOT work with 1 GB. Manufacturers who make computers with 1 GB and put Vista on them have no better way to mess with their customers. Going back to the laptop .... everything was great until it started overheating. The overheating was caused by a CPU run up to 100%. Now a CPU run up, depending on what program your running at the time, is common. However there was nothing significant running at the time and it seems that all of a sudden the CPU starts clocking 100% and the laptop starts to overheat. This completely slows down the laptop to the point of a crawl .. and then it just self powers off and dies. After this happened about five times in 2 weeks I knew it was time to return this junk. I read some reviews, in general, on Toshiba laptops and people of complained of overheating with Toshiba laptops. My suggestion: Stay away from Toshiba laptops. Spend your money on the good old HP, Dell, ThinkPads, etc.
